Something for everyone
From today onwards, visitors of the UnionShop at the University of Twente are likely to run into a shelf with a range of LUVANE products on it! The products that visitors can choose from are the ‘Campus Cartoons‘ calendar (featuring illustrations made for university newspaper U-Today), and the thematic calendars ‘Science & Technology‘, ‘Politics & Society‘ and ‘Arts, Sports & Culture‘ (featuring illustrations made to promote public lectures at the University of Twente).
What is the UnionShop?
The UnionShop is related to the Student Union and located at the heart of the University of Twente campus in building Bastille. It has been around for quite some time, selling University of Twente merchandise, office supplies and readers. The idea to sell Campus Cartoon calendars was met with much enthusiasm by Jolinde – the Office Manager of the Student Union – which led to the decision to expand the range of products to all calendars featuring University of Twente related illustrations.

Lower prices
Selling products through the UnionShop comes with a few advantages. Firstly, as a result of relatively low procurement costs, the prices of the products are lower than those of identical products in the online shop. Second, the quality of the materials and the print quality can now be experienced by potential buyers, something that is missing in the online shop. Lastly, a shelf in a shop at a location that resonates with the products is a great way to reach customers that are actually interested in these products. A win-win situation!
